Raff DnD plushie (with tunic)

I don't think I ever quite got over playing with dolls. A few years ago I made this doll of Raff, my half-elven writing/D&D character. Originally I just made his default outfit (a robe that went along with him being a cleric of the Messenger/Mischief god), then added an outfit of his ranger disguise to go along with a story I was working on at the time.

Well, I've been working on another story with Raff as a protagonist, and once again he spends the whole thing wearing yet another disguise. That means another costume change for the doll! He still has his pet mouse and his hair is still in tiny braids (although this is less obvious when the ponytail is there to hide his ears), but now his disguise has him as a human. There's a reason for this particular outfit, though: in order for the baddie to not find him again, he's undercover as a priest of the god of love. There's also a reason for the sleeves and pant legs being so long: the cleric he's borrowing the clothes from is a good deal taller than this little elf.

At some point soon I'll be making a doll of that other character (he'll have a tunic and pants that actually fit, lol!). I'm really happy with how this tunic came out! I was hoping those bindings on the sleeves would work (the sleeves are supposed to be loose; the wraps go around the arm to keep them from getting in the way) and this is as close as tiny crochet and yarn can get me. The doll is about 6" tall and the tiny clay mouse is only about 3/4" high. The lacing at the collar of the tunic is embroidery floss, the ties at the arms are yarn wrapped around and knotted, and the eyes are plastic ones that I painted green; everything else on the doll (minus the yarn hair) is crocheted.

I love being able to make plushies of my characters- it combines geekiness and crafting, my two favorite things!
